Amiga Walker

If we use the 'way-back-when machine' and travel all the way back to 1995/6 we will be at the beginning of the end of the chicken-lipped company that was Commodore.

The Amiga mags were full of images of the next Amiga which would known as the Walker,

It was a fun design, but one which was both loved and loathed, Some called it "K9"; some said "vucuum cleaner" ; others decided on "Darth Vader's helmet" Personally, I thought it was lovely and was looking forward to buying my own 030 powered Walker,....... but it was not to be as the doors closed before the Walker moved on from prototype. (when looking at the design think "Imac" as usual Commodore were too far ahead of their time)

Commodore asked a really nice guy named Klaus to design the Walker case, He, in turn, asked another nice man named Daniel to design the case ready for the Cebit 1996 show, The case was designed and, in total, three cases were built.

One original Walker is in Petro's posession, the second is in Germany and third is in a private collection ...........somewhere.

So the chances of seeing a Walker 'in the wild' are quite slim...............until now.

It turns out that Commodore never actually got around to paying for the rights to the Walker case, so the rights stayed with Klaus,

After some discussions Klaus very kindly allowed me to create another officially licenced Amiga Walker case just for shows. So I did......and now go to as many shows as I can to let people use and see an Amiga Walker in the flesh. :) Much to Petro's disgust, here is the newest official Amiga Walker case :)

Finally I would like to say a huge "thank you" to Jerry Roe, Brian Ferguson and Klaus without whom the completion of this project would not have been possible.
